Set or Change Update Schedule

Some updates will require your vehicle to be turned off for a short period of time during installation. In order to ensure you won’t need your vehicle, we recommend scheduling updates for the best day(s) and time that work for you. Don’t worry about forgetting — you'll be notified prior to your scheduled time if an update is ready to install. You can also change your schedule at any time up until two minutes before the install starts. Once the install starts, your vehicle cannot be driven for up to 45 minutes. If certain preconditions aren’t met, such as the vehicle being turned off, the install process will not initiate and will retry at your next scheduled day and time.

From your SYNC® screen:

  1. Press Settings
  2. Press System Updates
    1. Depending on your vehicle, this could be on the second or third pages of Settings
  3. Press Schedule Updates
    1. If no schedule has been set, select the day(s) of the week and time that work best for you
    2. Your set schedule will be recurring, so every time a non-drivable update becomes available, it will be installed at your selected day(s) and time unless changed. You’ll be notified when an update is scheduled to install, with an option to change the schedule.
    3. If a schedule has already been set, you can come back at any time to change it
  4. Press Save

  2. Press Settings
  3. Press System Updates
  4. Press Schedule Updates
    1. If no schedule has been set, select the day(s) of the week and time that work best for you
    2. Your set schedule will be recurring, so every time a non-drivable update becomes available, it will be installed at your selected day(s) and time unless changed. You’ll be notified when an update is scheduled to install, with an option to change the schedule.
    3. If a schedule has already been set, you can come back at any time to change it
  5. Press Save

Note: When an update is ready for install, you may also choose Update Now ahead of your scheduled time. You can do this on your in-vehicle screen by pressing Settings > System Updates > Update Details > Update Now.
